At Equiti Group Pty Ltd (Equiti Group) we honour, without reservation, our obligation to respect and protect the privacy of the personal information of individuals with whom we deal.

Your privacy is important and we are bound by, and committed to supporting, the National Privacy Principles (NPP) set out in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2001.

Collection Of Information

Our main purposes for collecting personal information is to allow us to provide you with financial products and services and to update our records.

Where we have been requested to provide you with personal advice, our ability to provide such advice is dependent on us obtaining certain personal information about you, including:

details of your investment preferences and tolerance to risk;

In some circumstances we are required to collect government identifiers, for example, your Tax File Number. We will not use or disclose this information other than when required to do so by law or, when consented to by you.

At or before the time we collect personal information from you, we will take reasonable steps to inform you why we are collecting that personal information.

Use of Information

Equiti Group uses this information to provide you with financial products or services and to provide you with general and personal advice.
We may from time to time use your personal information to inform you of investment information or to provide marketing materials about products and services which we expect may be of interest to you. We do respect your right to request not to receive such information and we will give immediate effect to that request.
We do not sell personal information to other organisations.

Quality of Information

We will endeavour to ensure that at all times the personal information about you that we hold is up to date and accurate. The accuracy of the personal information is dependant to a large degree on the information you provide and you should advise us if there are any errors in your personal information.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we retain from misuse, loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We will not retain any of your information for any longer than it is required by us, except to satisfy legal requirements. We will destroy or de-identify your personal information when it is no longer required.

Disclosure of Information

We may disclose your personal information for the purposes for which it was provided and in circumstances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. We may disclose personal information to third parties or external contractors carrying out functions and duties for and on behalf of Equiti Group. It is a condition of our agreement with each of our external contractors that they adhere to this privacy policy.

The information we collect from you may also be disclosed to third parties if the disclosure is required by or permitted by law.

Access To Your Information

You may contact us at any time to request access to your personal information. If we refuse you access to your personal information, we will provide you with an explanation for that refusal.
